Rather soon, I'm going to be moving in with my s/o, and when that happens, I'd like to set up my existing desktop in the living room as a gaming machine. Since it's for going to be mainly for games, I want there to be as little need for mouse/keyboard, or any sort of desktop interaction, which is something that seems like linux could be great for (reading the pinned for this sub, GamerOS seems like it could be nice). Propably not what you would like to here, but you could try something like Gamer OS. Haven't tried it myself so I don't know if it is really 100% usable without a mouse like they promise. Source: almost 3 years ago

Another source is mentor feedback, somebody who tells you he thinks you can do it, some projects seem more open to new contributors, search good first issue, if you will open an issue saying you are willing to commit to say 1-2h a week for a year I believe you will get help. Source: 5 months ago
