i5-11600k single core speed is 1661, multi-core is 7873. 5600x single core speed is 1611 and multi-core is 8129. The 5600x is faster in multi-core by 3.2 percent. The i5-12400F single core is 1630, multi-core is 8105. It really depends on cost and what you wanted to do. The quality of the motherboard also makes a difference.
