Good bet it's on freecampsites.net . You could consider adding a review along the lines of "Hey, don't run your generators" and/or "Becoming too popular, got the knock at 3am.". Source: 6 months ago

For anyone looking for actually free, no strings attached (and no subscription) camping, check https://freecampsites.net/ instead. It's a community wiki of free camp sites, usually on federal lands of various sorts (National Forests and BLM lands often have primitive campsites with fire rings and not much else). It's great for travel around national parks, especially. But please do leave no trace, pack out what... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
The water is the hard part unless you're fine camping with lots of people. Then I'll agree that Parker Canyon Lake, Madera Canyon or Patagonia are good for this. Without the water there are some great quiet spots outside of Tombstone or west along the i8. You can find them here: https://freecampsites.net/. Source: 11 months ago
For camping in camp grounds, you can google that. For camping in the wilderness use http://freecampsites.net. Crime is in all of the cities. Portland just hits the news more. Salems hospital is not great ( from my multiple experiences). I personally would never move to Eugene. I recommend checking out Legacy and consider living in Camas or Oregon City. My nieces do this and are very happy with their living and... Source: 11 months ago
When I travel, I look at eater.com for food recs, alltrails.com for hiking recs and google maps for anything not covered by those aggregators. This works out most of the time, and certainly provides higher-quality responses than random people on reddit. Source: 6 months ago
That is, after a shift at the shelter and a short hike! Alltrails has great stuff, idk where you are but it's got stuff in so many places lol. Source: 8 months ago
Not a specific destination answer, but I recommend checking out AllTrails. I like the details it provides. The reviews seem fair and the app is great. Source: 11 months ago
How long of a hike/walk? Bridle Trails is fantastic. Trilogy area of Redmond (Redmond Ridge) also has a ton of trails. I highly recommend the alltrails.com app or site. You can search by easy/moderate/hard and distance and using the map zoom into a specific area. Source: 11 months ago
OH and use alltrails.com to look up trails you're interested in and see the latest conditions. If I were you, and people are saying there's an active bear on a trail I would avoid it since you are alone. You'll find some trails people mention not great visibility around some corners or due to huckleberry bushes...I'd avoid those too on your own. Bears might be into huckleberry when you get there and the last thing... Source: 11 months ago
