Maybe not a perfect replacement, but have you tried Feedly? https://feedly.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
Pretty sure Feedly is the most popular news aggregator these days. I've been using it for years, and it is great. https://feedly.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
Https://feedly.com/ might fit the bill. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
There is an amazing alternative with far more features and thoughtfully designed in https://feedly.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
> Google Reader was painful to lose at the time. But how many RSS feeds do you now follow? I've been a happy Feedly[1] user for many years since that dark day, and appear to be currently pulling nearly 70 feeds. [1]: https://feedly.com. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
Https://immich.app/ has built in auto-detection and tagging. I am surprised by the over-engineered comment. Object auto-detection is kind of an advanced feature and I would expect a lot of extra infra required for it. Immich hides it because they just publish docker containers for you but I imagine it would feel more complex if you were to look at the internals. - Source: Hacker News / 20 days ago
I setup Immich in a few minutes with an old PC running FreeNAS: https://immich.app/ Their Android/iOS Flutter app needs some polishing, but overall it's very usable and very similar to Google Photos. - Source: Hacker News / 24 days ago
It really is hard to leave Gmail when all of your data has been conveniently stored therein. This is one of Google's retention strategies and it is indeed brilliant. That said, there's a vast number of self-hosted alternatives like Stalwart Mail (email) [1], Immich (images) [2], NextCloud (Google Docs) [3], etc. [1] https://stalwa.rt [2] https://immich.app [3] https://nextcloud.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
Last year we added CLIP-based image search to https://immich.app/ and even though I have a pretty good understanding of how it works, it still blows my mind damn near every day. It's the closest thing to magic I've ever seen. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
