RunCloud is a modern web server panel for cloud servers such as AWS (Amazon Web Service), Digital Ocean, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud, and other VPS hosting. In short, RunCloud is a deployment tool for the web developer to simplify the process of configuring, setting up a cloud server and deployment of web applications. It's focused on optimization, security and user experience to enable easy, hassle-free web server management and application deployment.
RunCloud might be a bit more popular than FAI. We know about 11 links to it since March 2021 and only 11 links to FAI. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Take a look at Debian's documentation on automatic installation using FAI or the Debian installer - more details on these and other apporoaches in The Debian Administrator's Handbook. Source: over 1 year ago
Fully Automated Installation, which I literally just found. Source: over 1 year ago
For network-based Ubuntu installs in our environment FAI has been a great solution. Source: almost 2 years ago
Bare metal install with FAI (after getting used to it, it is really quiet fast and adjustable) after initial reboot config management is handed over to salt with a highstate (i.e. Full config run) on boot-up. Source: about 2 years ago
Not exactly an answer to your question but I’ve used FAI (https://fai-project.org) to just make dynamic images. The scripting is a bitch and the entire process is annoying, but you have control over every step of the install, the final product is an image you can install even over NetBoot and fully automatic. It's a server management service, they use AWS (or your host of choice) under the hood. I personally use something similar called Runcloud which I haven't had any problems with. It's a halfway house between a managed platform and your own VPS. Means you don't have to worry about security, vhosts, ssl certificates, restricting access etc... With real person support if you need it, and a tidy interface to monitor... Source: over 1 year ago
Runcloud.io - Server management focusing mainly on PHP projects. Free for up to 1 server. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Maybe something more extensive than what you need, but RunCloud checks all of your boxes: runcloud.io. Source: almost 2 years ago
So after a good number of years on runcloud.io, (basic and Pro plans yes, I run multiple accounts) I am looking to see if there are alternatives to it, that may offer more features/same pricing or better pricing. Source: about 2 years ago
For PHP https://platform.sh has got a lot of traction, but it's notc cheap especially for small apps. If you hadn't wanted the Docker-based backing I would suggest trying one of the services that automates setting up your VMs at AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode etc like https://forge.laravel.com/, https://runcloud.io/, https://serverpilot.io/, https://www.cloudways.com/ etc. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
