I'd go with the first, this can be achieved: - with a bash script that loops with a watch to kill the server and start it again - with entr - with cargo watch -x ... If your entire rust source is mounted - with nodemon, the easiest, but required NodeJS on the image. Source: over 1 year ago

Ubuntu by default comes with the bash shell. Bash is great but I personally find it harder to customize. That is why I use Z shell, more commonly known as zsh.
