Royal Road Reviews

  1. Good Quality Web Novel site

The site itself is of high quality run by caring webmasters. The quality if the books on here depends on the skill level of the author. It's mainly for fantasy and sci-fi works.

You can find many amazing stories on here or writers just staring out and the book/s filled with mistakes. It really depends.

Do know that web novel doesn't simply mean novels put up online, it means serial novels that never end! This is important if you're writing a traditional novel as this'll impact how many readers, reviews and general traction you get on here.

While your story will still have more reads then on Wattpad it's still going to be way less than the more popular stories on there. Generally the litRPG and dungeon novels rain supreme on here.

I've been on here three years with 40+ chapters edited snd revised like crazy and have only one review, no subscribers snd twenty followers.

Just like on Wattpad don't fall gor the b.s about making any income on here with anything that's a traditional novel. However, you'll have a better chance if you learn about web novels what's expected abd such, so do give that a try. I'm going to try that soon.

This isn't sour graps I adore this site snd sm doing well considering my story isn't a good fit and the readers here wouldn't be considered my audience.

I do wish that when signing up there was a disclaimer about what a web novel is to those of use who're ignorant about it.

I'm going to keep trying and write several different web novels and see what happens.

I am annoyed at how hard it us to get feedback on this site, so don't come here if you want to grow as an author people won't help you. They just want to do review swaps.

    👍 Pros:    Detailed interface|Great customer support|Personalized content|Free basic plan|Friendly and safe community
👎 Cons:    Steep learning curve|Not for everyone|Low reader feedback|Popular stories rain supreme|Web novel isn't like regular novels|Tiny writing editor|Not super active
  2. A dedication to Royal Road

I've explored a ton of online literature, searching far and wide for the best stories out there. And guess what? I stumbled upon RoyalRoad.com, and it's been a total blast! They've got this huge collection of books from many genres, but they really excel with fantasy, the best fantasy platform out there.

  • The 2015 OTW Election fiasco: know your fannish history
Most small archives back in the day ran off of efiction (https://efiction.org/) I think. Or at least the ones I visited did. It seems miles easier than trying to set up ao3's software for yourself, though of course the search and tagging/categorizing functionalities aren't as robust. But it works for small archives.
