We make it possible for individuals to compete for the domain names that are released daily from the Verisign domain registry, known as the Drop.
Some domains are highly sought after, and can only be acquired by advanced computer algorithms. DropCatch was designed from the ground up to compete for these domains. Our advanced software and registrar network help give you the competitive advantage you need to get the domains you want.
Host applications on the Internet from any network or PC. Bridge legacy systems to the cloud. Connect IoT devices and more. Packetriot uses a secure reverse tunneling protocol to make servers on local or private networks accessible to the Internet. Supports Linux, Windows, Mac and OpenBSD and single board computers like Raspberry Pi.
Packetriot might be a bit more popular than DropCatch. We know about 9 links to it since March 2021 and only 7 links to DropCatch. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
So, I'm wondering if we follow it on dropcatch.com - is that a good way to "catch" it? Or if I search it, will it be the same story as with godaddy i.e. It will just highlight demand for the name? Source: 6 months ago
Listed on dropcatch.com auction $59 starting bid no reserve. Source: 10 months ago
DropCatch.com — If you know a domain is about to expire (from Expired Domains or elsewhere) then you can backorder it for free. If nobody else has placed a backorder, you’ll get the domain for $59, otherwise it will enter a short auction where you have to bid against others. Source: 10 months ago
You should backorder the domain if you can, if it's at GoDaddy then backorder at godaddy. If somewhere else, then backorder at namejet.com, dropcatch.com, and catches.io. Source: 12 months ago
The expiring domain will first have a 30 day redemption period, and then further delays before it is dropped. If the name is anything potentially of value, the name will be re-registered by someone hoping to profit off of it. I'd recommend using a drop-catch firm to attempt to register it when it is dropped. I have used dropcatch.com with good results before. Source: over 2 years ago

Some forums suggest this as an alternative. Looks like there's a free tier to play with. This may be much simpler than running your own VPS (although learning how to do this gives you a hell of a lot of power in terms of doing other things you might want to do). Source: 5 months ago
I use https://packetriot.com/ to set up tunnels to the ports I want to be opened. Pretty cheap and doesn't require a full-fledged VPN. You do however need to have a client program running. Source: over 1 year ago
The only way to do it is to create a tunnel from your network to a 3rd party and access your network from there. One service I came across is located at https://packetriot.com. Source: over 1 year ago
The only way to make this work is to have your vpn server tunnel out to another server, and then connections are made there. One user suggested https://packetriot.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
