  • Escape the walled garden and algorithm black boxes with RSS feeds
Do try https://diff.blog which is an aggregator of developer and engineering company blogs which I built. diff.blog tracks over 2000 blogs at the moment. I have been maintaining it for close to 5 years now. And it looks like 2025 is finally the year of RSS :). - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

  • Beehiiv or Substack for Newsletters?
You could use a personal site and host it in github pages if you don't want to post your content on an existing platform. • Ask HN: If not Medium, then what?
Medium even supports mirror your posts with the canonical URL pointing to the original. This means that any discovery on medium should help your SEO. I don't mind being on medium, but I want to have a canonical own that I own and that medium-haters can use. Personally I have a static site, and when I make a new post it automatically goes out to Mastodon and Medium as well as a couple of "RSS aggregators" (like... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago

  • Social Mapping
Social mapping is a method of visual representation of the relative location of households, different groups of people, as well as groups and organizations located in the area. It is often used by sociologists, but social mapping can also be a fun activity to do: for example, by using apps for hyper-customized maps, such as YouMap. Source: almost 3 years ago
