Personally, I feel like nothing happened to Reddit. Communities that I visit are pretty much what they were before Reddit changed its API policies. And since you are interested in computer science, having a personal blog site would add a lot of value in your career. I did not recognize sharecare.com, so I googled it, and then hovered to see where the link would go ... turns out, it was real...
