As a 36F, nearing 40, I have been reading and listening to more information about working out at this age and a lot of studies have found weight training to be far more beneficial as you age and cardio actually less helpful and causes more stress to your body. I'm also a 45 yo. Dude who's spent a lot off time off the bike due to injury or illness. I don't race and I'd say I'm more competitive with myself than others.
