For me, the method depends mainly from the resources I have. The best way to improve your vocabulary is to read more. Read good-quality material (classic novels and quality newspapers, not social media or tabloids). Whenever you encounter a word you don't know, look it up in a dictionary and note what it means in the context of what you are reading. Do you have access to Microsoft products? They have an appthat students can add to a device that will translate your spoken words into text (you have to have the app or website open as well). There are several other Microsoft translation tools that would also work in different ways, which you may be able to use without a Microsoft license.
