Eh, a week to crash course vSphere with unknown "plus to know"? You can learn ESXi + vCenter(vSphere) in a couple days, but you wont still "know it", just have exposure to it. Oh, you can try ESXi as a VM under Fusion, assuming an Intel-based Mac. Just register at vmware.com and download the beast. If you're curious. (There's also and ARM-based version of ESXi but, eh.) When stuff breaks - you'd want to know as quickly as possible because downtime at scale can be costly. As a good example, I used to work for an e-commerce agency, a huge one in Australia. So we had huge retail customers and clients. What we did is we used to do benchmark load testings and observed through...to be honest, we used New Relic because that time it's like a couple of years ago.
