Every couple of years, I have to do background checks on everyone that I am working with for a contract. We usually use CheckR (they were Goodhire until they were bought out). At the national level that may be true but it does not seem to be that way at the state level. Many of the states listed on e-verify.gov's site are politcally red. Further digging showed that all nine states that require ALL businesses to use E-Verify are "red" states and many of those that have local (county/city) ordinances that require E-Verify are "red" states. I'm not sure on the details of how it's done ...
