In addition to flying on Tue or Wed as others mentioned, I think looking from websites like cheaptickets.com and cheapoair, then you can look for those exact flights on the airline directly. Also found a website called Secret Flying, but you need to be a bit more flexible. Source: over 1 year ago
The trick to cheapest flights is to use for example (cheaptickets.com) see what airlines they found were cheapest and then directly book on that airlines website in stead of the intermediary. Saves me anywhere from 20 to 50 euros on my flights every time and I doubt Travala can do better than the actual airlines offering, they're just doing better than cheaptickets. Mind you between airlines and hotel websites, services like booking.com or airbnb, tripadvisor, klook etc its gotten easier and easier and easier to not only pre book things but pre pay for everything, including guides and entrance fees. Others, try using Hotel.com and booking.com in advance, but they are not guaranteed rooms, and almost every year I see people trying to argue with the front desk that they have a reservation.
