Does anyone know of an app trying to solve this problem: You want to give your phone number to someone you just met. The humans have to exchange the digits by talking or typing. Totally agree on the security risk. On the other hand setting up, maintaining and explaining PGP for non-technical users usually leads to not using encryption at all, which is by far less secure than a self-managed PGP gateway on a private mail server setup.
