By using Burner addresses, you will never have to give out your personal email ever again. Instead, Burner Mail generates a unique and anonymous email for every service you sign up with, making it really hard for companies and advertisers to track you online. The burner addresses forward all emails to your personal inbox, collecting zero personal information.

6 – Set up a forwarding address service such as (duckduckgo.com forwarding service, simplelogin.io [ProtonMail's property], burnermail.io anondaddy.com). Source: about 1 year ago
I was using burnermail.io with a custom domain name that I own. They don't have any obvious way to export my 300 aliases that use my custom domain. I flipped my MX record to SimpleLogin and setup my custom domain as well. I turned on catch-all for my domain. As new emails come in with an alias created in burnermail, Simplelogin is auto-creating them which is awesome. Source: over 1 year ago
Another recommendation for proton mail and burnermail.io for temporary sign up. Source: over 1 year ago
If you are interested in the "unlimited unique private email addresses" functionality, also take a look at these other services: https://33mail.com/ https://anonaddy.com/ https://burnermail.io/ https://relay.firefox.com/ https://simplelogin.io/ These all support custom domains, except for Firefox Relay, which only supports a custom subdomain. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
While this is a convenient choice, if someone gets access to your burnermail.io account you are screwed. The point about having it directly on an email server is that there is no traditional login and you can't trace which service provides the email server. They would need to provide a bring-your-own-domain feature as well as a rotating IP/proxy. Given they don't even provide the first, I doubt they provide the... Source: almost 2 years ago
I love how Matrix or its most popular client Element do not even get a mention. Source: about 1 year ago
The title undersells the change a bit in my opinion. By default, mastodon now encourages new users to sign-up on https://mastodon.social which has caused a bit of a kerfuffle in the fediverse. Personally, I'm largely ambivalent to the change; I understand the reasoning, and it's what https://element.io has been doing for https://matrix.org since the beginning. It is more than a bit of a sea-change though given the... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
We currently have the Matrix protocol, with client applications such as Element supporting it. We also have XMPP as another option. Generally more modern than IRC, these platforms are primarily developed as FOSS software. This makes it less likely for developers to impact their users negatively. However, despite these advantages, these platforms lack the refined user experience (addictiveness and stickiness) that... Source: about 1 year ago
Please DM me if you are interested in hiring me or have any questions at all. We will work via Element (https://element.io) voice/screen share calls, so please make sure you have a mic available. I look forward to hearing from you. Source: about 1 year ago
Your best bet is probably matrix, the most user friendly client iirc is element. Source: about 1 year ago
