Broot has many features that feel natural... When you know they exist (for example, try looking for what's taking space with `br -w` then stage the files and remove them at the end). Broot[1] is somewhat similar to ranger and is better at searching for files, but has its own downsides. I thought I'd mention it since I like using it, but someone mentioned Thunar and that's probably a good choice. Source: over 2 years ago

We're using bash as our terminal shell for now (it is standard in many distros) but it is not the only one out there. If you want to test out zsh, fish or oh-my-zsh, you will see that there are a few differences and the features are usually the main differentiator. Try that, poke around. Source: 5 months ago
