Baserow is a collaborative open source no-code tool. Our job is to help you connect all your data across your teams and workflows to keep everything in sync and get the job done with a greater speed and security. The platform enables non-technical teams to digitize workflows, automate processes and improve business efficiencies.
Baserow organizes all your data into tables that are easy to create, collaborate on and look through. When there’s one database for all workflows running in your company, everyone knows exactly where to look for what.

Baserow might be a bit more popular than Retool. We know about 94 links to it since March 2021 and only 89 links to Retool. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Hey, I'm one of the founders of Baserow. We launched the beta of our application builder last week. It allows you to build database-driven websites, web applications, and portals. It's in the same product as our database module, and will work seamlessly together with it. More information can be found in the release blog post linked to this post, and in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjE7gxkPlDs. Even... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
What are the main differences compared to Baserow (https://baserow.io/)? - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
Baserow[0] is really good! [0]: https://baserow.io/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
You could try something like Baserow and your users can enter data directly into the database. Source: 5 months ago
Alternatives were Rows and Airtable. Rows tends to be better at calculation, while Airtable tends to be better at storing and sorting data as a database. I was not aware of the open-source alternative called Baserow at the time. I did not choose any office suite like Google Docs or Microsoft 365 because they seemed… too old-fashioned, I guess, while I wanted glitter. ✨. Source: 5 months ago
I am building https://github.com/claceio/clace and https://retool.com/, allow automation of operational tasks through a web interface while also allowing fully custom web apps. Clace also works great for running simple web apps locally. Building and deploying a web app should be as easy and common for backend engineers as creating a CLI app is. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
This seems to mainly be useful for spinning up quick and dirty internal tools. But for that use-case, isn't it easier to use something visual and established like Retool (https://retool.com/) or that generates nice react code, like MUI Toolpad (https://mui.com/toolpad/)? - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
There are obvious counterexamples, like https://retool.com, which is a successful company with solid revenue and multi-B valuation. > software engineers — who are often influencers in a purchase decision — are strongly incentivized to build instead of buy Regardless of what software engineers would rather do, pressure from real users trumps pressure from internal users. This especially true in startups, whose... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
I submitted an application for w24 that fits in the "Developer tools inspired by existing internal tools" category but wasn't accepted. I suspect my pitch probably needed work, and I also haven't started building at all yet and submitted as a solo-founder which it seems has less chance of being accepted. Here's the pitch and some details, in case anyone else is interested in the idea: > Supportal uses AI to... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
