  • Just Moved to Vienna
Hallo Leute aus Österreich! I just made my move to Wien, finally. I am offering my Software Engineering Consulting Services and/or Digital Product Management services to anyone who wants to launch an MVP in the digital space in a short manner, or join/lead a small team. Enterprise-grade stuff (I am ex-IBM CIO), no shady businesses, US entity. My profile: https://arc.dev/@arpad Before going into the Software space... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • 💼 50 Tips to Land a Remote Tech Job Based on My 45-Day Journey to 2 Offers
To be honest, it's another rabbit hole. In my whole experience history with these job platforms, I can 100% backup G2i as I got a dream job there and Toptal, Lemon.io, Turing, and Arc.dev are fine but people have different opinions about them, sometimes they want to charge you a lot, sometimes there is a lack of jobs, etc. It's a thing to consider, but hear this out. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
  • Ask HN: Does it help to attend a SaaS conference to get a job in a SaaS startup?
A 1k USD conference is not worth it for a job IMO. These conferences are pricey because they are good places for people to achieve sales. If you want to go the conference route for networking, instead you should like at cheap-but-sponsored tech conferences. Often there are people on the lookout for potential hires at the various talks/booths. You can chat up the people giving the talks and they will connect you.... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • I am a developer with over 6 years of experience with React. What would be the best place to get related jobs?
Arc - https://arc.dev/ - apply to be a developer contractor. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Upwork just stole $10k from me
    As a dev I'm happy with Arc [0] & Codementor [1]. I assume clients have a good experience here as well. --- [0]: https://arc.dev [1]: https://www.codementor.io. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • There are no new social networks
    > Where is the public open chats of cyber space? It used to be every tech-savvy person had their own PhpBB instance and built small communities with that. All that has largely migrated to Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, and to a lesser extent: Lemmy & Mastodon. There's also quite niche and bespoke communities like Subreply[0], Tildes[1], and Raddle[2] (Built with Postmill). I prefer the Reddit style Karma system... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Lemmy.world has been hacked
Ironically, the anarchist site that the devs used to pour scorn on, Raddle, is still going just fine. Source: 11 months ago
  • Any "distressed people" have a feeling of nowhere to go?
I would check out https://raddle.me and https://beehaw.org. Both seem to be positive and cozy spaces. They might not have all the relevant communities but it's a good start. Source: 11 months ago
  • The final decision regarding DM Toolkit's future
My apologies, I will edit the post to redirect to the site. The site is available here. Source: 11 months ago
  • Anyone have recommendations for possible Reddit Alternatives for after July 1st?
I've seen some other alternatives such as raddle where independent users are trying to recreate the Reddit experience with a new platform (yet it doesn't seem to use the same Karma System, make of that what you will) but I'm still curious to see where everyone is going if large parts of Reddit disappear after July 1st...
