I stumbled upon this beautiful diagram that shows a variety of Berlin building blocks. Although the original image seemed to be hosted in a website called are.na, the link seems to be completely dead now. Source: 8 months ago
Why? I'm doing yet another research project about this great building. It's been such a core part of so many people's lives. From going to Ginsberg and Wong with family, to going there after OCAD classes. I want to preserve the history of this place. If you're interested, I have an are.na channel with all the pictures I've collected so far in this folder ->... Source: 8 months ago
It has a limited free option only, the rest is premium. Also are.na seems shady to me, even the front page is fugly lol. Source: 10 months ago
Have you tried are.na? it's definitely more design/art focused but it lets you upload images into blocks/collections and organize them. Source: 10 months ago
I think are.na might be a good fit for you, it’s like Pinterest’s goth little brother. It’s mostly artists are on there and they have a load of channels (boards) about UI animation. Source: 12 months ago
If you go to CARI or are.na (Evan Collins stuff) boards, you will see what I mean. There were 2-3 aesthetics in early 2000s which were 70s nostalgia. Source: about 1 year ago
Arena. I call it "pinterest but good". (just kidding). But it's' basically a very similar site but geared more towards the creative fields like design/arts/photography. I use it both personally (scrapbooking, research, collecting articles by topic or to read soon, you can use it as a library/drive for files under a certain size) and professionally (moodboarding/more research/etc.). There are a lot of good graphic and type references collected together in are.na, especially around flyers and tech-ephemera. It's a good resource for building your own style boards. Source: about 1 year ago
Brainstorming and research is always a good idea. are.na is great website where you can find some ideas and inspiration. Source: over 1 year ago
Ive already seen these unfortunately but here are some more you might find interesting That I have uploaded to an are.na board. Source: over 1 year ago
I'll caveat that by saying are.na is mostly art directors, designers, and creatives bookmarking their inspirations, so it's sorta focused on hiring photographers in the future. But here are some photo boards I follow:. Source: over 1 year ago

Hey guys, I am building my digital portfolio using Webflow. I want it to have my images scattered like shown in this image, which can then further move and flow across the page. Can anyone help with how to do this? I'm vvvv basic beginner but just wanted to know if coding this can be within my reach. The image is a part of www.thatschic.net and I would love to recreate it with my own are.na account. Source: over 1 year ago
I'd be interested to get more specifics on the bans. I'd expect that the author simply ran into anti-bot countermeasures. The word "insist" makes me think they might not have taken it gracefully- I know I definitely can be heated & zealous when I feel wronged, and don't always respond well. Not that all these sites even offer good ways to respond, which is a rather acursed aspect of this freshly mechanized era. >... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Thank you so much, this is incredibly helpful. I always look at amazing design work on are.na for inspiration and think to myself "ok..I have to figure out how to do something like this...." and obsess over making something amazing at the jump; but I'm now realizing that all of my favorite things I've designed are just a combination of "accidents"! Like, I'll go in with a plan then come out with something way... Source: almost 2 years ago
I initially used it for research by collecting primary, secondary, and tertiary research. however, later I used are.na to find open source pdfs of books I wanted to read or other works in their original language that I can read or practice. however, now I use it as a social media one I started to follow enough people randomly! Hey, looking for advice. I use a website (are.na) for bookmarking, it works perfectly on one machine but on my desktop the site doesnt load some crucial control buttons. Source: about 2 years ago
Are.na, Although very niche (which I think is a feature), looks very interesting in this regard. Financed trough paid account instead of selling user data/ads and being driven by chasing big investor money. It also seems to have a very open api for people to build things upon. https://are.na From Wikipedia: Are.na was built as a successor to hypertext projects like Ted Nelson's Xanadu, and as an ad-free... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
