DON'T PAY FOR BOOKS AT THE BOOKSTORE: Unless you are taking a math class at CSUN that has its own (stupid) math workbook, do not buy a book until you have looked for other cheaper options. For example, you can rent books on Amazon for the semester at a lot lower prices. Similarly, don't buy anything for your classes until at least after the first two or three classes, this way if you drop the class or find out that the book is actually 'optional' you won't have to go through the hassle of returning it or eating the cash for the purchase, and can instead spend that money on better, more helpful resources.
