(If walking is your only exercise, you probably still fall into the "sedentary" category and I would recommend using that as your starting point.) Then look at what you are eating each day and make sure that each day you are eating at least a few hundred calories less than what you burn. Pay attention that your portion sizes are accurate. If you do that consistently, you will lose weight. If you cut back by 500 calories per day, you will lose about four pounds a month. (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories = 1 pound.).
