    I like projects like this, https://joinmastodon.org/ and https://matrix.org/ . Would be nice if they were able to create decentralized accounts (e.g. Like this) though so it doesn't matter as much what server you join. Then if it dies you could just keep using your account on another server.

    Case in point: https://finance.yahoo.com has been mostly the same for decades. They've made some very small - but mostly good - improvements. However it's mostly stayed the same and it's still the top site for stock market information. They always try a new homepage look but it sucks and people use the old style.
