  • Reddit must share IP addresses of piracy-discussing users, film studios say
Lemmy is like Reddit and here because it has threaded comment discussions. It's also federated, so you can pick a server you like and have discussions with users from various servers together. https://join-lemmy.org/ Some Reddit apps switched to supporting Lemmy instead when they were kicked off the API. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Nerdfighters Lemmy community?
There was some talk back in June of migrating or setting up a parallel community on Lemmy. Did anything ever come of that? If not, would anyone be interested in helping set one up? Source: 6 months ago
  • Show HN: Fediverser Portal. Bring your subreddits to Lemmy
Because they are all different deployments of Lemmy [0]? [0] https://join-lemmy.org. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Solarpunk "pod / cell" system
Local servers (dietpi, Freedombox, YUNoHost or similar solutions) which can be used to host different solarpunk content and setup instances on the fediverse (like peertube, mastodon, Lemmy etc.). Source: 7 months ago
  • Show HN: AI News – Dedicated news site for AI developers
The entire page is based on Lemmy (https://join-lemmy.org/). I disabled a ton of features and interface parts, as IMO the original lemmy interface is super noisy. Runs on bare-metal with docker-compose. For the facelift, just good old CSS :). - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • ⟳ 4 apps added, 121 updated at f-droid.org
Jerboa for Lemmy (version 0.0.46): An app for Lemmy, a federated reddit alternative. Source: 8 months ago

If you are looking for an alternative to reddit, try Lemmy. There's even a WireGuard Community. Source: 8 months ago
  • If reddit ever becomes worse, I've made a community for D&B on Lemmy
There's no time like the present to start looking into alternatives such as lemmy and kbin, just cut them some slack since it IS early days for them, they sometimes have problems that are generally fixed within a few days, but at least those problems arn't coming from a rotten core. • Teddit Is Shutting Down
So I clicked "sign up" and it suggested checking if there might be another instance best suited to my needs, so I followed the proposed link to https://join-lemmy.org/ and got the "join a server"/"run a server" option. After clicking "join a server" and scrolling the list of half added descriptions I just left because it felt like I was supposed to be making a choice about the community I want to join before even... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Geddit: Open-source, Reddit client for Android without using API
I mean there never will be if people don’t move. ActivityPub-based alternatives [Lemmy](https://join-lemmy.org/) and [Kbin](https://kbin.social/) are growing fairly rapidly at the moment. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Please come join the SF Giants Lemmy community!
For those who are already on Lemmy or are looking for a new alternative to reddit (https://join-lemmy.org/), please make sure you join the SF Giants community over there and try to participate to help it grow! Lemmy, described as 'A link aggregator for the fediverse.' is an open, federated) alternative to Reddit. You can read more about it and find an instance to sign up on at join-lemmy.org, or if you are still confused you can look here. Source: 10 months ago

Https://join-lemmy.org/ (open source and federated, already had thousands of users and thriving communities due to mass exodus from reddit after the API changes). Source: 10 months ago
  • I am sorry reddit. I have been here for over 10 years, but I'm outie.
Lemmy is part of the fedeverse. You wont find a Lemmy app in play store atm but there are plenty of 3rd party apps (Sync for Lemmy should now be in beta and there are others) https://join-lemmy.org will get you going with apps. And then just find a instance you like (or are able to join since a lot are having issues do to the unexpected scaling because of people leaving Reddit). Source: 10 months ago
  • The future of r/ambridge
Migrate to Lemmy. Lemmy is a set of discussion forums (think mini reddits) that talk to each other. You create an account on one instance (I'm grysbok on lemmy.sdf.org ) but can read and comment on communities on other instances (like feddit.uk ). There's a bit of a learning curve, but it's not bad. I joined 2 days ago. https://join-lemmy.org/ is a good place to start. Source: 10 months ago
  • Stop recommending people go to lemmy.world to make accounts and pick any other instance, it is overloaded.
They are listed on the join-lemmy.org site where you go to sign up in the first place, should I need to specifically list all options other than lemmy.world? They are already listed. Source: 10 months ago
  • Lemmy/Fediverse Terms Explained
Lemmy is the reddit alternative social media that is part of the fediverse. It works similar to reddit, in the sense that people can post stuff and other users can comment on these posts, higher upvoted posts rise to the top etc. The main difference is that communities (subreddits of lemmy) are hosted on different instances which can then all be viewed by a user from their home instance (provided they weren't... • Boost for Lemmy πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
None, it's federated (anyone and everyone can setup their own). There's theofficial website showing where/how to join lemmy instances. But that's it. You can find an instance you like and join. Source: 10 months ago
