Now if you want to actually read those articles, well that can be painful. Basically you want to hook up to an institution with access. If you enroll in a University, youre golden. Many other places less so. First I would check your local Uni library's checkout and reading policies. Many (but not all!) universities actually do offer limited public access, or an alumni access program. Some Universities also do a senior scholar type program for the over-65s, if thats you. At my institution this grants library access. If you dont have an available university to access, try looking in your public library. Probably you want to go to one of the big branches, like a state library. Ask them about the journals youre interested in. Also ask them about interlibrary loan policies. Many have a working relationship with a large network, which can get you physical and sometimes digital copies of the journals youre interested in. To assist in the search, if you find books or periodicals you like try to look them up on worldcat.org. This will tell you where copies can be found worldwide. Sometimes you get lucky, and have local access. Sometimes the closet copy they list is in Denmark. Thats just the way of the road. Once you get one journal, focus on citations and see who those authors are citing often. Specifically, what other journals repeatedly appear which interest you. From there, the cycle repeats.
