Just to add to this, from the perspective of an artist working on building their own brand/fanbase: I feel like listing myself on some of these sites would be antithetical to my goals. I simply don't want to be another drop in the ocean. I want clients to want a piece from me because they associate quality and a one-of-a-kind style with my brand, so I could charge a premium. Listing myself on commiss.io would do nothing for me, and might even detract from the value of my brand. I mean, imagine Apple selling cheap and glitchy $100 macbooks at every Walgreens. Yuck. Or selling full price macbooks at the local gas station. Why?? It's simply not where their clientele go to for that product or the experience they want to have when paying for a luxury.

  2. Commission art with less risk. Artists&Clients saves time and reduces risk for creative people.
Artistsnclients.com (charges 15%) -> They actually updated this since I last looked at them, the first thing you see on the website is "I'd like to view the discounted slots", then you see commissions for $6-30 criminally undervaluing themselves, and being encouraged by the marketplace to do this so they show up in this section.

  3. Commission personalized art
Artcorgi.com (charges 30%) -> I actually quite like artcorgi, their fee is quite large but they do a lot of work as they manage your prices for you and handle communicating with the client on your behalf.
