    I do interstitial journaling using Logseq. Basically you just write whatever (markdown formatting supported) and use page tags [[like this]] to mark the topic your notes are about.

    It does have a steeper learning curve, and the joke is that configuring Emacs is a lifestyle. But I highly recommend Doom Emacs to get up and running fast. As a bonus, a helpful person blogged about setting Doom Emacs up.
