I mean, consider wsj.com, nytimes.com, or economist.com. They're paywalled. If you're on a real computer (e.g. SPX or SP8), you can just install the Bypass Paywalls Clean extension in Microsoft Edge, and bye-bye paywall. You have no way of doing that on the "walled garden" iPad. This is a huge limitation. The iPad also isn't great when you're trying to avoid YouTube ads, fingerprinting, etc.
