Telus is throttling mine and probably your internet

Speedtest.net

Use speedtest.net against the Olds O-Net service, you should see close to your full speed. I tested against Rogers Mobility Calgary server and I got about 1/2 the rated speed of my internet line. Why? Not because of Telus throttling, no, it's because you can only get what that remote server can send. Not all speed test servers are created equal nor do all of them even have the bandwidth to hit gigabit speeds.

You're understanding of speed tests is flawed. Use fast.com and you will be using the local Telus hosted Netflix cache, so it should show your full speed. Use speedtest.net and the Telus hosted Ookla server and you should see your full speed.
