Dell has advanced power management options in the BIOS, I set it to keep the battery charged at 70%, which is ideal for lithium batteries. And you set a custom schedule on days you need the battery charged at 100% so that you can take the laptop with you at full capacity. It's not rocket science, and definitely something anybody reading this site should be able to figure out for their make/model.
