  1. Locate32 is software which can be used to find files from your harddrives and other locations.

  2. An unexpected gift. January 07, 2018 by Michael. One of the nice things that happened last week was an fman user writing in to say that 1) fman "is THE BEST SOFTWARE" (sic). And that 2) he would like to send me a $50 tip.

Slightly off topic, but I ditched windows explorer for most things years ago. I’ve been using a neat indie app I found called fman. Not affiliated, just a fan https://fman.io/.
  3. Extremely powerful partition manager. Copy, clone partitions.

Resize and clone the install from the HDD to the SSD. I've had the same "install" of Windows since 2011, its gone through 3 different storage mediums, two different motherboards, and three different CPUs. My go-to for a low level copy between two different drives is Clonezilla. https://clonezilla.org/ GParted is also another live OS with good tools to manage partitions. https://gparted.org/.
  4. See what programs are configured to startup automatically when your system boots and you login.

Amusingly, Microsoft provides their own tool (1) for excellent insight and enabling/disabling of all the various places applications can put their startup executables. 1 - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns.
