It's not NASA, but check out zooniverse.org if you haven't already. They have a rotating series of projects where you can get involved analyzing all sorts of things. Right now one of them is identifying distant galaxies to help measure dark energy. Source: 10 months ago
There are plenty where you do things like classify galaxies from photos, transcribe handwritten scientific notes, etc. No experience necessary. Just google. zooniverse.org, etc. Source: 11 months ago

Stuff like Zooniverse maybe? You can help researchers sort and analyze large amounts of data on a ton of different topics. Source: about 2 years ago
Before covid, I would have said I was an introvert, too. Surprise? I guess I’m not as much as I thought? You make a good point about volunteer work, when I had nothing else to do I started volunteering on zooniverse.org to keep busy. I think one way or the other, enough people would start wanting to do some kind of projects or work that not everyone would be sitting at home all the time, even if in the future not... I use zooniverse.org for transcribing. Source: over 2 years ago
a few days ago I got addicted to zooniverse.org and doing stuff on there. Right now I have 700+ classifications and am on track for 1k+ during the weekend at latest. Since I started this a few days ago, would it be odd to put it on my ecs? Like would the colleges think im just doing it as filler? Most of the projects im doing are science/transcribing which isnt related to my major (theater). Source: over 2 years ago
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I used zooniverse.org to do my required volunteer hours because of the pandemic! there's lots of projects to pick from. Source: over 2 years ago
The toe in the water for doing citizen science is probably Zooniverse. Source: almost 3 years ago
For service, something that I did towards the end of the CAS program was helping various projects on zooniverse.org. Basically this is a website where researchers upload part of their data and ask online volunteers to help classify information / take part in surveys / etc. Source: almost 3 years ago
I am cataloguing animals in the citizen science Western Shield Camera Project on zooniverse.org. Source: almost 3 years ago
It is crowdsourcing but there was a very specific site I was looking for that I had been to once. It was zooniverse.org at the end! Thanks for the help!!! Source: almost 3 years ago
