There is a way to make it work with this https://github.com/medusalix/xone There are tutorials in this subreddit. I’ve done it and it was noticeable better than Bluetooth IMHO. Source: over 1 year ago
For example, I have some old Xbox One controllers that don't have Bluetooth and an Xbox Wireless Adapter, I got them working with the xone driver. Source: over 1 year ago

Controller works perfectly. Are you using an xbox controller? If so try xone. Just follow the step, they're very very simple. https://github.com/medusalix/xone. Source: almost 2 years ago
So the driver I am currently using is xone but the adapter is not able to sync new controllers while plugged into the steam deck. It works fine when I plug the adapter into a Windows PC first, pair the controllers, and then use it with the steam deck afterwards, but that's about it. Is there a driver that can also sync the controllers with the adapter as well? Or did I do something wrong with this adapter? Source: almost 2 years ago
I had issues getting Xbox One controllers to work until I installed this. It might be specific for XB1, but it could be worth a shot. There’s instructions on how to uninstall easily on the page as well! Source: almost 2 years ago

If built in driver wouldn't work, then you can try Https://github.com/medusalix/xone It supports some third party controllers. I use it with Gamesir G7. Source: almost 2 years ago
What alternatives do you guys recommend, SteamOS or another solution? Is anyone of you running a non SteamDeck solution with SteamOS and maybe XBox Wireless USB Dongle? (I realise that I might have to import xone myself to get my controllers to work with the USB dongle). Source: almost 2 years ago
Make sure you have linux-headers installed, then install xone-dkms-git from the AUR (yay -S xone-dkms-git). Xone is a driver for the Xbox wireless dongle and wired Xbox One and newer controllers. Source: about 2 years ago
It's supported by the third party xone driver. Source: about 2 years ago
Give xone a try, we've added support for GameSir recently. Source: about 2 years ago
Just in case you need wireless adapter support in Linux in general, there is https://github.com/medusalix/xone . I am using this with the official Microsoft wireless dongle. Source: about 2 years ago
Don't know about the PS4 controller, but you might want to look at xone. Source: about 2 years ago
I started with using Xone (https://github.com/medusalix/xone), letting me to use the dongle instead of BT and allowing steam to recognize the controller as elite and actually let me remap the paddles through steam input. The issue is that they don't actually work, nothing happens when you press the paddles. Source: about 2 years ago
My Xbox Core Controller works just fine, although I primarily use it with a wired Type C connection. On Arch, instead of using the xpad drivers, I use xone, which I would suggest you to take a look at (not sure if it's entirely necessary, but it works better for me and it is something worth considering). It doesn't, unless you use USB forwarding with VirtualHere. The old 360 dongle works on the Shield, the Xbone and Series adapter never did. There's https://github.com/medusalix/xone for Linux, but afaik there's no port for Android, so slim chance of the Shield supporting this in the (not-so-)near future. Source: about 2 years ago
