  • Upgrading an Aurora R7
You dont need extended warranties on parts, but if you want lifetime warranty on your computer that is handbuilt and stress tested and want to finance (going into debt = bad idea) there is a company out in Utah called that has these crazy machines that are lifetime parts and labor guaranteed. • Anyone in this forum who is originally from Texas and moved to Nebraska?
There are some perks or not perks depending on how you see it. Expect quiet and boring life. As far as things to do here, you can go fishing, hunting, play sports or visit a "Fun Center" with bowling allies, ancient and very outdated arcade games and bars, lots and lots of bars because drunk is the only way you can get away from how unbelievably boring it is. Roads are kept up though, not much worry about pot... Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's the best feature of Linux that sets it apart from other operating systems?
Do you have an AMD CPU GPU combo? The code is AMD64 because intel was a turd back in core 2 duo days and AMD was like Linux here is the instruction sets to run 64bit and so the processor code got written for it. Intel is great I am intel fan boy but AMD threadripper 128 core processors are OMFG! I am not a fan of the GPUs I do use an nVidia 2070 super. I got it for 499$ from with my build before the... • Ask HN: Build Own PC in 2022?
I faced this same dilemma and decided to not get up to speed and figure it out myself. I ended up going with Get on the phone with them and they will help piece out something in your price range. They are a bit more expensive, but they also provide warranty on all parts beyond the manufacturer's. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Sould I upgrade?
I have had my laptop for about 5 years now, and I've been wondering if I should upgrade it lately. I got it for gaming at and have been happy with how it works, but its getting to the point where I can't update it and I can't get windows 11 on it. I will put my spec bellow. • Ask HN: Off-the-shelf computer for Oculus Quest 2?
No worries, you may want the answer down the line anyhow. The Quest is great because it has no wires. I really like the lightsaber training in the Star Wars games! The freedom of movement is huge. When you do want higher fidelity, you can plug the device in via USB to push more polygons. If you end up wanting a high end machine, I highly recommend Amazing customer service, they will help build... - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
