My current workaround is to continue running a Wyze cam outdoor. https://wyze.com/wyze-cam-outdoor.html This is only acceptable to me (online storage, subscription model for most functions, different UI, etc.) because I came from a Wyze setup. Source: about 2 years ago

We've got a couple Wyze Cam Outdoors. The cameras themselves have built-in batteries, so there's no cord needed most of the time - which lets us put them where we need to. They can record to an SD card and there's no subscription needed for the basic features. Source: over 2 years ago
Wyze sells a wireless exterior camera . Just charge it when you're home. No messy wires or anything. I have a wired version that I run through my eaves and it works great. Source: over 2 years ago
Wyze also makes the Wyze Outdoor Camera but this does not connect directly via Wi-Fi and requires a base station. It's also rated at IP65 so it's no more weather resistant than the Wyze Cam v3. Of note, the Wyze Outdoor Camera with base station is still only $50 or 1/3 of the cost of a single Outdoor Camera so it's still an amazing value. Source: over 2 years ago
Https://wyze.com/wyze-cam-outdoor.html - this camera is totally wireless and battery operated.. So the base station with micro-sd is safe inside your house, and the camera is outside. Put like 2-3 of these in hidden spots around your house.. Theyll record on motion detect only. Source: over 2 years ago

I live in a pier and beam house and I put a Wyze outdoor camera under where I can see some of the critters. I had a possum under there for a long time, then a raccoon shared the space with the possum. Now I don't see the possum anymore, it's pretty much all raccoon, but I saw an armadillo lumber in a couple of nights ago. The Wyze outdoor cam is great, because the cameras don't need to be plugged in -- they have... Source: almost 3 years ago
