I like that Pagespeed website for speed testing, this time I used https://tools.pingdom.com/ though. The performance optimization has a lot of low effort things you can do quickly to improve your website's speed a lot. If you just enable cache control with some htaccess edits and gzip compression, that alone will improve your score a lot. Source: over 1 year ago
Pretty sure u/Iammmmmmmmma is referring to a general website performance analysis tool. Like your site gets a D performance rating from pingdom’s website speed test. Their test showed about a 2.5 second page load time, which is roughly what I get on Google Fiber where I can easily pull gigabit speeds all the time. Source: over 1 year ago
I would start by making the website faster. Right now, it's so slow, Google is going to penalize you for that. Your website gets a speed rating of D-68 where A-100 would be the best score. You can check it yourself for example with https://tools.pingdom.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
As with my tests last year, I also ran the COP27 website through PingdomTools, which reported that the homepage has a total weight of over 11 MB; better than the 18 MB of the COP26 website, but still far worse than the current average of around 2.2 MB. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

Here is a test you can do using Pingdoms speed test which allows you to select the server. Select one from Europe vs one in the US and you will likely see an increase. The difference in speed between having a local server vs one that has to cross the Atlantic would be up to around 0.5 seconds. Source: over 1 year ago

Under the "View results in table", what really is the "Bytes" column? Is it only the size of HTML page (without images, scripts, css, fonts...)? I see results to be around 245000 bytes which is 245 kb but testing the page on tools.pingdom.com gives me this:. Source: over 1 year ago
