As for getting back into the game I recommend that you watch some of the Astra militarum youtube channels like Mordian Glory for tactics. Don't forget wahapedia.ru is your friend for all the rules, and download battlescribe for list building. Source: over 1 year ago
If you aren't using it already then I suggest bookmarking and using wahapedia for all of your rules needs. It has every single offical army with its own page that contains all the rules, relics, warlord traits, stratagems, and secondaries. If you struggle with list building then I suggest downloading battlescribe which is an app for android, apple, and desktop to build list for a multitude of games systems... Source: over 1 year ago
Get unit statistics and points values from Wahapedia. Source: almost 2 years ago
And everyone also uses wahapedia.ru for all their rules . Source: almost 2 years ago
All the AoS rules can be found on wahapedia.ru for free! Source: almost 2 years ago
You defenetly should never look at rules at wahapedia.ru becaus piracy is very bad. Source: almost 2 years ago
Wahapedia is free, GW don’t seem to care about it, and is more up to date on rules than any book will ever be. Plus, 80-100% of the rules will all be in one place, meaning you don’t need to track down that obscure chaos supplement that has 4 pages of necron rules in it. Source: almost 2 years ago
I would go on wahapedia.ru and search the crusade catastrophe rules set. Catastrophe is easily the third best crusade mission pack exactly for the reasons that you want it. Melee units do get a power boost but that's intentional, it speeds up the game overall and gives everyone the opportunity to make decisions during each player's turn. As for initiative try playing with it as written before making house rules,... Source: almost 2 years ago
Just memorize the entire codex to make things easier. That's what I did. Or just have this on hand. Source: almost 2 years ago
A lot of people use https://wahapedia.ru/ as their resource for 40k. It is updated regularly and is something I use more than the Codex's. Source: almost 2 years ago
You'll probably want some troops, so grab a box of fire warriors. You can build them as a strike team for longer range or a breacher team for close range. That's probably all you'll need for a small list. After that, something like a devilfish to transport troops could be nice, but it isn't necessary. As for rules, you'll need access to the core rules and the t'au faction rules, which can be found in the core... Source: almost 2 years ago
Checkout https://wahapedia.ru it has all the of info on that stuff on the side of the page. If it's a legacy mini (which the rat ogres are not) just Google "Age of Sigmar base sizes" and there is a pdf directly from GW. Also: hurray for EmanG. He's great. Source: almost 2 years ago
It is indeed meh at best as it also includes errors commonly. The best resource is https://wahapedia.ru/ if you want access to everything as it is normally up to date with faqs (more than the gw app). Source: almost 2 years ago
I wouldn't try to get everything perfect when it comes to the game, get the models you like, and use free resources online for rules/stats. 9th edition is very bloated, even veterans find it confusing or at least time consuming to keep up with everything that changes. Source: almost 2 years ago
Wahapedia.ru, it's a website that includes all the info that all the codices have and gives easy access to all datasheets, with all weapon options and their points costs updated to the current ones (point costs of units and weapons are changed often). Making a list through your codex alone is a pain in the ass. Source: almost 2 years ago
What I'd suggest is to use the website wahapedia.ru. While not officially associated with GW, what it does do if note is that it tells you the size of the BASES of the models in question. that way you can match with a model in your army that uses the same sized base to give you as best as possible a comparison. The battle scribe app for your army stats is very helpful. Most of the other info u need can be found on https://wahapedia.ru/ or threw Google. 40k is kinda alot to figure out on your own and I'm only really just becoming more confident that I have a general understanding of the rules (also new). I recommend using both Wahapedia (all rules for free, updated with the contents of the dataslate/point index: https://wahapedia.ru/), and Battlescribe app to create army lists and verify that you're not forgetting any hidden cost on your units/any restrictions Also,. Source: about 2 years ago
For strictly rules, Wahapedia is a useful resource accessable online. Source: over 2 years ago
Look up wahapedia.ru, rules should be posted there for 9th edition stuff. Codex are there as well. Source: over 2 years ago
Wahapedia got both the core rules and all the codex. Unlike physical books, the info in Wahapedia are pretty much up-to-date too (if not then they will be updated soon). Source: over 2 years ago
