  • Question for you FLAC heads out there
Vox.rocks lets you upload UNLIMITED music in FLAC (and play in FLAC) from their iOS app (and and Mac and beta Windows app). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Best music player for Mac? Something like foobar2000
I remember Vox has great support for lossless music. As per foobar2000 UI preference, Idk if there's any. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I don't want streaming music, I just want to stream my music
Lots of good suggestions here. One option I haven't seen mentioned yet is Vox: https://vox.rocks/ It's a paid service that seems fairly well polished with apps for different platforms, including mobile. Wondering if anyone's using it and what the feedback is. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • I don't want streaming music, I just want to stream my music
If one is not up for self hosting (e.g Plex or Jellyfin) then Vox may be of interest. It has a quality Winamp-like media player and offers a lossless digital locker as a subscription. Plus it does BS2B which is a nice thing to have. https://vox.rocks/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Music app all my playlists from 20 years has been jumbled up
Https://vox.rocks (has commercial aspects, looks pretty but I've found it can be a bit crashy). Source: about 1 year ago
  • From Plex to Jellyfin Media Server
There are a lot of music players for the Mac, here are a few of them: https://swinsian.com/ https://colibri-lossless.com/ https://cog.losno.co/ https://vox.rocks/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Are there/What are some good local-first apps?
I think Obsidian[0] is a good example, though the online feature-set is limited to syncing (which makes sense). Another might be Vox[1]. But both of these just enable sync functionality, not social or data enhancement. [0] - https://obsidian.md/ [1] - https://vox.rocks/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Best chiptune players for macOS in 2021?
I've been using Vox for years now, but they started trying to sell their subscription service and have been locking some of its features. It also sometimes stops working when connecting or disconnecting Bluetooth headphones. VLC plays the files, but it'll play them endlessly. (which is something that I sometimes want) Audio Overload works fine, but it doesn't have a great UI: many things will break the audio... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Apple Music client alternatives?
I used Vox a while ago (https://vox.rocks/), it seems to be still around. Can’t say it’s the perfect solution, but its ux beats iTunes and it looks hot. Source: over 2 years ago
