  • Advice on where to start
A lot of sifting through content on both itch.io and the unity asset store. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to get Unity assets from the Asset Store to Unity?

  • Which should I learn/do first?
No problem. Free assets can always be found on the Unity Asset Store and you can get animations / models from Mixamo. You can also look at Booth for 3d assets. Good luck. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for tips/worlds/avatars for vrchat wedding?
Another place you can look for more general assets and prefabs (decoration, furniture, plants, etc.) is the Unity Asset store itself https://assetstore.unity.com/ and you can filter for free assets if you'd like. A similar option is https://vrcassets.com/ which will allow you to search for assets from thousands of vrchat gumroad creators. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Where can I download free 3D characters for my game?
There are a LOT of free assets on sites like unity asset store or unreal store. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Godot 4.0 Stable
    > That said I'm extremely excited to see an open source alternative that looks to have a very active community around it and that looks to be doing great things! I can't help but to wonder what Godot would look with a store of paid assets, like Unity has. For example, there are currently only free ones available for Godot, from what I can tell: https://godotengine.org/asset-library/asset yet the size of the Unity... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • I want to sell the Avatar in VRChat. But Don't know where to sell
So when you look on the market (Unity asset store, booth.pm or discover.gumroad.com) you will notice these places are packed with content. It's easy to get in, hard to master. But above all, there is a large audience willing to acquire items and struggle with the Unity tools to make it work. Even if they are not developers them selves. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Easiest Path You've discovered to Learn Unity 3D
Https://assetstore.unity.com/ - The Unity Asset Store is a marketplace for Unity assets, including game templates, models, and other resources. Many of the assets on the store include tutorial content or documentation that can be helpful for learning Unity. Source: over 1 year ago

  • everytime I open the asset store and try to import the assets this happens how can I fix this?
When this happens again, turn your screen 90° to the left and go directly to https://assetstore.unity.com. When you download an asset while you have Unity open, then it will automatically open in Unity. Source: over 1 year ago
  • 3 friends knowing nothing about this world
Absolutely. Just set up a version-control repository. Git with GitHub and GitHub Desktop is about as simple as it gets. Note that this will not be "live" and will require some orchestration between you three to work nicely with scenes. There are, supposedly, some real-time assets on the Asset Store, but I've never heard anything good about them, and have never used any myself. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Can someone please educate me on what an asset flip is and the stigma they have with all the comments I read about them being money grabs and abandonware etc.. I would appreciate it.
There's a bunch of asset stores out there, like the Unity Asset Store, They allows games developers to purchase assets so that they can use them in their games. That way, you don't need to hire artists and the like to do this work for you, so its ideal for beginner game developers since it saves a ton of money. Source: over 1 year ago
  • This might be a dumb question but…
Unity also has a pretty extensive asset store, with a wide variety of free and paid assets that you can practically plug-and-play with your game development. They can help a lot with your learning and prototyping, and even final games that you would want to development: https://assetstore.unity.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • C# games in Godot, 2022 edition
Mostly trust. Finding it. Usually lacks the polish and presentation an official asset store would have. Unity's asset store is pretty top-notch and is a good one to compare other asset stores too. Unreal Engine's marketplace pales in comparison. • Myth of Mirka
I created the game in 3 weeks' time using free assets from the Unity Asset Store. I must give credit where credit is due! Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How common is it to use pre made assets in games? Does doing it too much lead to any issues?
Generally speaking however pretty much every shipped game uses some sort of 3rd party pre-existing assets. Be it music, soundfonts, sounds, graphical elements, UI, icons, VFX, voices, character designs, pre-existing script prefabs (eg. To handle weather effects, cameras, dialogue systems), shaders, you name it. There's no shame in using asset stores, there's a reason why it's there and why it contains tens of... • how to make a game
Install unity2020 (easy) edit your game by adding assets from asset store since it was published in 2001. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Unity Tutorial: Developing Your First Unity Game - Part 2
So far, so good. Now let’s instantiate the water effect for when the frog falls into the lake. As I introduced previously, we can visit the Unity Assets store and import the “Cartoon FX free” asset. For this, we will use the water effect. Open JMO Assets folder > CFX2 Prefabs folder > Water. We will do exactly as we did in my last article with the smoke effect, but we will write the code inside the... - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
  • Import FBX, OBJ, STL, Asset Bundle, and now PNG and JPG files as placeable props and characters!
The model in the left-most section of this GIF was made using Hero Forge and the model in the center was downloaded from Unity Asset Store. The images in the third section were downloaded from 2-Minute Tabletop. Source: about 2 years ago
