I booked a paid ticket thru united.com for SFO-HKG-BKK in January. The SFO-HKG leg is on United and the HKG-BKK connecting leg is on Cathay Pacific. The United flight is booked as Economy K and the Cathay flight is booked as Economy S. At the time of purchase (6 weeks before travel) I was allowed to reserve a seat on the United flight but not on the Cathay flight. Source: over 1 year ago
Option 1) - Current Strategy - Keep monitoring flights on the United.com website multiple times daily for Saver Premium Economy (65K) or Saver Polaris (100K) space. If they show up, book right away via "change of ticket" via transfer in additional chase points to United. I'd have to look at 2 openings in either Premium Plus or Polaris Business at once to not separate the child from adults. Source: over 1 year ago
If you don't have these accounts already, create one aa.com united.com for both you and your spouse. This will create you frequent flyer numbers for these portals. When you do this, they usually send emails with elevated miles for signup bonus. Source: almost 2 years ago
If you can't find the flights you want on aircanada.com or united.com, then there's no award inventory. Source: almost 2 years ago
Other than paying for an upgrade, are there any ways to squeeze out additional PQP I haven't thought of? They don't offer it for hotel bookings through united.com, right? Source: almost 2 years ago
Then I would have gone on united.com on the phone, while also calling them. I might have also gone to another desk in the airport (this works if it's only some but not most/all flights at the airport are impacted) or even to the United Club. Source: almost 2 years ago
Definitely some ongoing website issues right now. I have an E+ subscription and need to pay additional money to pick an E+ seat via united.com in Chrome/Safari and mobile app. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm trying to figure out how to make sure I am at least eligible for upgrades on partner airlines when booking connecting flights internationally. I just completed a trip to Bangkok through Tokyo and the ANA connection (NRT->BKK) was not even eligible for an upgrade in the W fare class (ticket was booked on united.com as part of a multi-leg trip). The DEN-NRT leg was upgrade eligible and I was upgraded as a... Source: almost 2 years ago
In February I told the UA gate agent I'd rather have a diet coke than their voucher. She lost her shit. I tried Friday to use that voucher she claimed was so much better than a diet coke to book my flight to see my great niece's 16th birthday. united.com says it isn't valid. I got ripped off yet again. I wish I had gotten a diet coke instead of a useless voucher. Source: almost 2 years ago
You can only use it with Air Canada. But they ticket partner flights. So you cannot go to say united.com and try to use it. Doesn't work. Source: almost 2 years ago
Also, as for price, when I priced out the flight on united.com it was about 2200 pp. After the flights hit my united account, I checked the PQP earnings and it is 1510, so that implies a price for the flight somewhere around 1600 pp. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm trying to find the info online on united.com but not sure if its "preferred seating" or "premium cabin", as one gets refund while other does not. Source: almost 2 years ago
I sell the travel credits for 50-70% of its value. For example, you can get a $1000 value travel credit and pay just $500-600. I will provide proof of value directly from united.com as well as provide you with a guide on how to book your ticket on united.com. You can book immediately after I send you the ETC pin and details. Hi All - Thinking about doing a large United purchase via Bilt Travel Portal but a little confused. I have the Bilt Mastercard but am not clear on how much I would earn via the Bilt Travel Portal. My understanding is that I'd earn 2x if I booked via the portal. Is this in addition to the 2x via the Bilt Mastercard or is it just 2x total? If just 2x total, then I might book via united.com where I get a work... Source: almost 2 years ago
If all your flights were booked on united.com under one booking then you will not need to collect your bags until ICN. They will tag them for ICN when you check you bags at SFO. I also enjoy long layovers to explore those cities even if its only for a few hours. If you do not need your carry-on bag until ICN then you can ask at the Gate if they gate agent will check your bag all the way there so you don't need... Source: almost 2 years ago
I will provide proof of value directly from united.com and we can negotiate prices. Travel agency bulk purchasers welcome. These ETCs are transferrable which means you can redeem them online and purchase your reservation 300 days in advance for future travel. I will provide certificate pin and details upon sale and I do have a money back guarantee policy. Source: almost 2 years ago
Is there a way to puchase selected seats at united.com if my country does not appear in the list at billing adress form? Is it possible for a friend who has available billing adress to make that puchase for me? I bought the ticket from a 3rd party website for the same reason and it offers seat selection not 10 but 300% more expensive. Source: almost 2 years ago
All you need is the Promo + PIN code to redeem it when making a purchase on united.com (or over the phone). Source: almost 2 years ago
That's what I was thinking... united.com doesn't seem to give me an option to change it now, though. :(. Source: almost 2 years ago
Yes. Seems to only be an option through desktop united.com. go to your My United/Explorer Plus and click on the passes, there will be an "email pass" link. Source: almost 2 years ago
