  • Advice please!!!
I would say try it - it may help with the anorexia too. Decreasing your anxiety could help you address the root issue. I've heard that OCD and anorexia are related as they are both compulsive disorders. I would definitely get into therapy/counseling for these issues. I'm using NOCD (treatmyocd.com) as my therapy as its covered by insurance in the USA. It's been phenomenal!! Meds are helping me to address my... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Terrified I have an rabies incubating in me after feral kitten exposure THREE YEARS AGO..How do i get this out of my head?
I’m sorry, I also developed OCD at 12 and went years without treatment so I know how tough it can be. Do you think you could try a self-guided ERP and/or CBT exercise? I have a CBT worksheet that might be of some help if you need it. Some other helpful websites are OCD-UK and NOCD. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Have any of you used online programs to manage/recover from OCD? How was your experience?
I know when you're in a bad place you can grasp at straws but (assuming you're in the US) you're better going somewhere like treatmyocd.com (NOCD) which might be covered by your insurance or trying to find a therapist through IOCDF https://iocdf.org/find-help/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • eye blinking tic
I'm seeing an ERP therapist through NOCD. She has been super helpful and if you can afford it, I definitely recommend it. After insurance, mine comes out to $50/session, but that can obviously vary. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I need some help/tips
Please please please seek out a therapist who is an OCD specialist or one who is well-practiced in Exposure Response Therapy. More likely than not, talk therapy is going to lead to you compulsing/ruminating, which will make things worse. If you are on Instagram, I strongly recommend following ObsessivelyEverAfter and YourAnxietyToolkit. They are therapists doing the work and OCD specialists and I've gotten some of... • I'm 15 and I'm tired
Obviously you have OCD. Are you seeing a therapist? This online therapy was highly recommended by somebody I was supporting that was suicidal and really panicked and he was like a new person afterwards https://treatmyocd.com. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Does less ruminating, help you to understand that the thoughts are fake and not memories. And advice needed on how to stop ruminating.
I understand it is difficult, have you applied erp? Being self taught with erp is okay but with a specialist can be more helpful! treatmyocd.com has specialists if you want to work with one of their specialists available in the united states, uk, australia, canada onatario. Hopefully he can start therapy with a specialist, his thoughts can calm when he tries either erp or cbt! Awaken into love has a course for those with rocd and a course for the partner who is with someone with rocd, https://rocdcourse.com/partnersofrocd-224768046 she has truly gave me wisdom that has helped with my rocd! In the course I believe she goes over this and maybe it can be helpful so you can support... Source: about 3 years ago

Healing is most definitely possible, it may be not be easy but for me it has taught me a lot of wisdom that I apply to my relationship! Erp has also been helpful not sure if she has been tried erp, but I understand that it can be difficult if she is dealing with other things. treatmyocd.com offers erp based treatment in the UK, US, australia, canada Ontario. If maybe she would want to try and work with a ocd... Source: about 3 years ago
  • My brother constantly washes his hands for hours on end. How can I help?
Is your brother currently going to therapy? It is best to seek an ocd specialist or a therapist who is well trained in ocd who can help with compulsions like hand washing or the thoughts he may get. ERP has helped me a lot for my ocd, if he can work on erp with a specialist or therapist it can help reduce the compulsions or whatever it may be. Erp can be very difficult (it becomes less difficult over time when... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Suggested resources to help me help my daughter?
NOCD works with children and families. I am using it now so I can vouch for the quality of the therapy. There's also 0 wait. There were a number of therapists who were available literally the next day. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Anyone else ?
Yeah that is what do with other thoughts too! Easier said than done which I get but im more self taught with erp,cbt/etc, are you are able to get treatment I know it can be expensive. treatmyocd.com has erp and they can help with it is available in the United States, UK, Canada Ontario, and Australia,. Source: about 3 years ago
  • should I be offended rn
I totally understand how treatment can be expensive! treatmyocd.com has erp based treatment available in the United States, Australia, Canada Ontario, and the UK. Insurance is also another thing but they have a one free call and not sure if online treatment is okay but its mainly for ocd but in person is good too as long as they can help with erp/cbt!! Source: about 3 years ago
  • Bad Therapy
Yeah same here! It is helpful to work with a ocd specialist who can help with cbt, erp etc. The website treatmyocd.com has ocd specialists and is available in the United States, Australia, Canada ontario, and the UK, or checking the website of a therapist to see if they might be specialized in ocd. • Advice please for a 6yr old with OCD...1st post..
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Two resources to check out are IOCDF and NOCD (I am fairly certain they work with children). Source: about 3 years ago
  • Wife is pregnant and has OCD
NOCD lets you work with a therapist yourself even if it is one of your family members that has OCD. You actually have a lot of leeway because you're probably doing a lot of accommodating for her OCD, and they can work with you to reduce that and nudge her into therapy. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Are they right?
I'm so sorry you're in this situation. I would suggest trying to do some research about mental health options in your area (including teletherapy like NOCD). From there you might need to be really straightforward with your mom about the fact that you need help. If she's still not willing, try some self help books or online resources (such as this or this). Best of luck! Source: about 3 years ago
