Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about TransferWise Debit Card and what they use it for.
  • Invoicing foreign country
You can get a European bank account with Wise and transfer the money to your SA bank account at much lower fees than PayPal or whatnot. You will also get much better conversion rates than having the company do SWIFT payments into your SA account. Source: 11 months ago
  • Looking for a UK bank account that I can use to pay bills/direct debits to French companies. Credit Agricole Britline turned me down :(
Have you looked into a Wise multi currency account? I believe you can setup SEPA (euro) direct debits with it as well as send SEPA transfers in euros with low fees: https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-account/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Joint bank account
If not, I would also recommend Wise. It's a great service, especially if you are going to need to fund the account with both GBP and EUR. Not only can you use Wise to move GBP to EUR, you could also use it as a multi-currency bank account. Source: about 2 years ago
  • US Bank for non-US citizen/resident (EU citizen)
Yeah I agree - OP should investigate getting a Wise multi currency account in USD https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-account/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I need to get paid in USD. Can i open a USD bank account here? Or else what can be done here?
Try this, it's cheaper and easier https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-account/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • International payments
Wise allows you to open a multi-currency account and will give you a "virtual" bank account in the UK that you can use to accept payments. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Is there any way I can cash a US dollar cheque without going through bank? (Online only bank account)
Be aware that different banks charge different amounts for accepting foreign cheques. If you might receive more of these, see if you can persuade the sender to do a bank transfer, you can use a Wise multi-currency account to receive international transfers for cheap, you even get a US account/routing number to make it easier for the sender. • America Exchange Student - Am I safe to use Monzo abroad?
Setup a https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-account/ and then you can setup standing orders and so fourth like a local if that’s something you’re concerned about being able to do. Monzo uses Wise behind the scenes for international transfers. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Trading the tasty way in the UK?
I believe it didn’t work previously but over the last few months they offer a multi currency account. For each currency you get a set of unique account details. A USD account also has a us based address and is in your name, which I believe was a problem in the past. I certainly has worked with me, opened an account in April. Wise GB -Multi currency account. • USA Bank account for someone staying outside US
It's generally very difficult to do that, so your best bet is a multi-currency account through Wise. Also, note that opening an account in the US may expose you to US taxes. Source: about 3 years ago
  • (Where) do Americans travel when on vacation?
Have you tried Wise? I was able to use my Wise debit card with ANZ Bank without any extra fees (EUR into AUD). Really saved me a lot of money. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Returning to UK with 90k— any considerations?
Https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-account/ shows the kind of thing might be useful. Source: about 3 years ago
  • How do I receive my U.S. (state and federal) tax returns internationally
Would something like Wise's multi-currency account work here? (formerly TransferWise). Source: about 3 years ago
