  • We No Longer Need a Big Carrier's Wireless Plan. Discount Ones Are the Way
Not OP, and they said what they use (Red Pocket) but I also pay $5/mo for service from Tello ( https://tello.com/ ). 500MB/mo, data only, calls through Google Voice via data. (100 minutes of voice $1/mo extra.) Lots of choice in building your own plan. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • T-Mobile switching users to more expensive plans unless they call to opt out
Happy with Tello: https://tello.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Can i recharge/pay again to stay with the same number?

  • Best provider for 30 days
I'm on Mint and happy with it, live in Arlington VA and work in Downtown DC. As of last year you could sign up for Visible for a month and cancel. If you don't need fully unlimited data, i.e. Where you are staying will provide internet, a provider like tello.com might be good where you can customize your minutes and data (US Mobile has similar). • A country where US calling can legally be charged at $1/minute is a broken country.
For US calling, if you have a supported phone, you can also sign up for a cheap US provider like Tello and pay $8/month for unlimited US calls and texts on a secondary SIM. Turn on wi-fi calling on the US SIM and make calls using your Canadian data. When you go to the US, add a gig of data for the cost of 2 Rogers US minutes. That's one of many similar US providers discussed in depth here. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Why Tello app doesn’t have option to check referral points!
If you would like to view the account with all the numbers and information or even change the information or the payment method, then we recommend you use the website. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Need to move from Red Pocket $99/yr 1000/ul txt/1GB GSMA plan, what's comparable?
Tello.com is also good. A unlim/unlim/500 plan there would run about $9/mon after taxes. Also on TMO network. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Costs up, disability payment the same, I am going to end up homeless. Where do homeless people live in the winter?
Https://tello.com/ for saving on phone and internet, just get an unlimited plan and use the data for wifi on your phone and hotspot for wifi on your computer. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Short USA roadtrip - eSIM or roam?
Have you considered Tello? They do eSIM, and unlimited data with no minutes would be $29/month. I don't know how much data you need. Also, 5GB limit on hotspot before slowed. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Looking for new carriers?
Can you specify what plan you are on with Mint? Try tello.com they have custom plans to match your needs. Or try usmobile.com, their pooled plan starts at $9 for Unlimited Talk / Text + $2 per GB of data on either Verizon or T-Mobile network. Taxes included for US Mobile on pooled plans only. Tello charges no fees except for taxes (no recovery fees like Mint, service fee, etc.) If you want other options with... Source: about 1 year ago
  • 16-30GB prepaid esim?
T-Mobile Connect offers full priority data, starts at just $10 with 4 plans to meet their needs and other prepaid plans. T-Mobile Prepaid. Also Tello, offers cheaper plans but deprioritized 5G NSA without UC capabilities. https://tello.com. Source: about 1 year ago

Greetings all, I am writing to you this evening in a state of desperation. I am trying to port my phone number from my old cellular provider "tello.com" to my new provider USCellular. I have my tello.com account number and the PIN code tello.com requires. USCellular have been great about submitting the request but EVERY time the port request is submitted the request is rejected by Tello. The reason Tello... Source: about 1 year ago

Do you need a home phone line or keep the number associated with that line? Port the home phone # to a cell line, tello.com. Cancelled your account afterward. Then have another adult sign up for service online. You can get 400mbps for $55 and it comes with unlimited data (this include free rental of their combo modem/router). Price is good for 24 months. • Is it worth switching to mint?
Switching to Mint was worth it for us. Popped in the sim cards and transferred over both of our phone numbers within a couple of hours. Connectivity has been pretty consistent for us. Home, travel, work, etc. No issues noticed. Noticable is our phone bill, which is has been $15 per month and includes data. We've been with Mint for the past 3years. That said, I've been looking into Tello Mobile. Their customer... Source: over 1 year ago
