  • Am I dumb for travelling with private jets? Friends are guilt tripping me
Offset your emissions 2x with carbon sequestration. Note: not carbon offsets, pay for actual sequestration: this is a useful resource https://stripe.com/climate - note that carbon sequestration is orders of magnitude more expensive than carbon offsets because it actually accounts for the cost of putting that carbon in the ground. • Ways to avoid participating in destroying our planet?
Carbon capture is fascinating. Stripe Climate is the best resource I've found, check out their vetted projects towards the bottom of the page. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: What unprecedented measures could be taken to stop climate change?
My company takes part in https://stripe.com/climate That's where soon billions USD can be spent (some projects are still in research stage). "Stripe is kick-starting market for carbon removal" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29007726. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Stripe
Stripe’s pocket or if it’s part of the 1% initiative [1] that Stripe has started. [1] https://stripe.com/climate. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Would it matter to you if an ETH project is sustainable?
It feels like the web3 version of what Stripe is doing with their climate program. Centralized companies are focusing on their carbon footprint, and I personally think decentralized projects should be thinking about this as well. Source: over 2 years ago
  • We Need to Take CO2 Out of the Sky
OP Ryan Orbuch works for Stripe Climate. If you agree with the article (I do and so do others, e.g. Renowned swiss climate physicist Prof. Dr. Reto Knutti at ETH Zurich) and use Stripe, you can setup some percentages to pay for CO2 removal through Stripe Climate (I do). I helps kick-start early stage technologies. https://stripe.com/climate. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

  • Have you enabled this on your Stripe account yet? (If not, you should)
About a year ago Stripe came out with a really simple way for companies to contribute a % of their revenue towards fighting climate change by removing carbon from the atmosphere. 🌱🌎 Https://stripe.com/climate. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • I'm building a platform for businesses to contribute to carbon sequestration projects
Projects like Stripe Climate are working to lower the cost curve of carbon sequestration projects (mostly pretty expensive at the moment) by creating a bunch of demand, and Zoco follows their example. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • What We Learned Doing Fast Grants
I'm not Patrick Collison, but if I were then I might say that there are already a bunch of impressively plausible-looking carbon capture and sequestration technologies, they look like our best bet on the margin, and what they mostly need is a large enough early customer base to let them scale up and reduce cost. As it happens, there's a program called Stripe Climate which aims to do exactly this! Money comes from... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
  • Every online business should be using Stripe Climate
I think Stripe Climate (SC from here on) is a game-changer here. There is no other product like this -- no first-party way to allocate online revenue to carbon removal. There are other projects that allow you to integrate with carbon offset marketplaces, or subscribe to carbon removal efforts, but 1) they're not seamless 2) they don't automatically scale with your business, and 3) they don't fund exclusively... • $PSTH Weekend Discussion, March 27-28, 2021
The first article (posted today) caught my eye because of name of news source, as I've been interested in how Ontario Teachers pension is so savvy with their portfolio. Then, the names in the article caught my attention (author and subjects). Finally hope for green movement as it aligns with money and investment by Howard Green--EM highlighted as well as Mark Carney Ontario Teacher climate change stance Mark... Source: about 3 years ago
