  • Lessons learned from messaging strangers on the internet
I was always looking words up on either SpanishDict or using Google Translate, DeepL and the apps' builtin translation tools. - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
  • Looking For A Good Vocab Builder for Portuguese
I'm currently trying to learn some basic Portuguese and I'm having a hard time finding a nice consistent way to build my vocabulary. I already know quite a bit of Spanish (I'd consider myself a B1-B2ish speaker) and I have tutors I talk to every week of both languages. I mostly use SpanishDict.com for my vocabulary because I find it easy to find lists and examples, it's okay for testing pronunciation, and it's a... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Waterfox suddenly doesn't load any websites unless using IP or a VPN?
First it started with only spanishdict.com and then pretty much any HTTPS site. Source: about 1 year ago
  • ¿Pueden ustedes me ayudar con este problema? Creo que es como el francés, dónde buscamos una parabla quién comencar con un vocal, ella toma "el" y no "la". ¿Es de verdad?
You made a few. Also for translation services DeepL is better than google translate, and you should know the difference between using a dictionary and using a translation service. In this case, a dictionary is what you want since you're trying to find the meaning of a word and its gender. If you had used spanishdict.com it would've explained to you what was happening. • How do you create your own flashcards when immersing yourself in TL content?
For me, the method depends mainly from the resources I have. For Spanish I'm using spanishdict.com and it has a convienient way to create lists of words, so I just save a new word I see and then after some time I convert that into flashcards. For German I'm using collinsdictionary.com which I use as a normal dictionary, so usually I either create new cards while immersing myself or write them down to a file and... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Do LSA U of M graduates that are not computer science get stable jobs?
I learned mostly by studying conjugation tables and still picture them when speaking. spanishdict.com is a really good resource. I listened to reggaeton, watched shows on Netflix with the subtitles in Spanish, and read novels and looked up vocab I didn't know. Élite and Casa de Las Flores are two shows I can think of right now without looking at my Netflix history. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How would I answer these two questions? (return of "Fue en ese momento en el que me enteré del atentado terrorista.")
SpanishDict.com has this example sentence:. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Wouldn't "al" be "to the"? What makes al correct on the left but wrong on the right?
I often find it useful to look at example sentences on spanishdict.com or (more recently) Reverso Context. On https://www.spanishdict.com/translate/jugar, you can see that for definition 1, when playing an individual sport or game, you use "jugar a" instead of just "jugar". But they also show "jugar deportes" on that page, so it's Ok too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • A question to users
As other people said, you can't. But Duo sometimes teaches you two options for the same word like 'camarero' and 'mesero' for 'waiter.' You can always check online dictionaries to see where each is used and choose the one you're interested in. I recommend this one, but there are plenty of other websites as well! • If you're trying to include a language you don't speak
My spanish professors in college always recommended spanishdict.com for grammar basics and dictionary, but I also love to recommend wordreference.com as well. Just for anyone who needs a place to start! Source: almost 2 years ago
  • What is the correct pronunciation of "comes"?
I'm just starting out myself, but when I'm having trouble pronouncing a new word, I like to look up the word on spanishdict.com and then go to the pronunciation tab. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Spanish-Learning FAQ's
Two websites I love to use when I teach Spanish are studyspanish.com and spanishdict.com . They both have tons of resources to help you learn Spanish such as quizzes, flashcards, practice, audio, and more! Source: about 2 years ago
  • Spanish Placement Test Practice
No practice exams but I was able to find the textbook used for SPAN III and used that to study alongside the modules on spanishdict.com. Did that for a few weeks and was able to score out of the requirement(although it wasn't a requirement for my major I did it for other reasons). I think the earliest opportunity you have to take the exam is in August in which case yeah if you prepare you'll have no problem... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Streak 13 - Titi's life (part 1).
I'm learning Spanish right now, so I check my verbs all the time online (with spanishdict.com). I'm not sure what websites English learners use a lot, but I googled "English verb conjugation" and found this website:. Source: about 2 years ago
  • How to properly conjugate verbs such as Estudiar?
Everyone else has already cleared up why "estudian" is correct instead of "estudias", so I won't get into that, but I just wanted to let you know that spanishdict.com has been incredibly helpful in teaching me conjugations. They have a conjugations table for any verb, and have example sentences and very in-depth translations. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I scored a 7 in P1 & P2 for Spanish Ab (N20), So here's my advice (Hopefully it'sn't too late lol mhoop)
I hoped this helped a bit, this took a while lol. Try to use some at least especially the subjunctive ones. Use spanishdict.com for clarification w subjunctive. Source: over 2 years ago

Its also great for dbas and voice activitys.... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • To oversleep in Spanish?
I would personally recommend spanishdict.com , it seems to not only lots of obscure vocabulary but also phrases such as this one and also provides example sentences and pronunciation. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Best tablet for productivity and hobby photography?
Having internet browser open with tabs - one tab for Google images, another for spanishdict.com. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Anyone aware of a language app to help you create sentences off of known vocab words?
So far Linguee looks similar in functionality to spanishdict.com but I am not aware of them creating sentences in the way I mentioned. Source: about 3 years ago
  • At what point do you start sentence mining?
I created my own, I went through the spanish frequency dictionary (can find on pdfdrive.com) and I would find sentences for them on websites like linguee.com or spanishdict.com (skipping over cognates and shit like hola of course). Source: about 3 years ago
