  Don't know if you're familiar with this song. There are only a handful of songs that I can sing while playing. One of the easiest ones was Gone Forever by Three Days Grace. My best resource to use was songsterr.com - plays along with you for any song, and makes it really simple to know what notes to play.   I recently switched back from Chrome and something I got REALLY used to is an extension where I can control individual tab volumes. Like how the volume mixer on windows works but with the tabs rather than firefox as a whole.   I personally wanted to learn to play songs. Guitar lessons weren't doing that for me. So I quit lessons and learned to read tab (songsterr.com, though the updated site is objectively worse than the original) and went from there. If a song had a technique I didn't know how to do, I'd go to youtube. I was never motivated to practice for the sake of practicing, personally. Some people are. But just by learning to...
