If you're planning on running multiple brackets for multiple games start.gg /formerly smash.gg ) should be your best bet imo, I've organised and helped organise many tournaments for both MOBAs and fighting games and start.gg has never disappointed me. Source: over 1 year ago
Liquipedia's a great place to start archiving our events; historically Tetris tournaments are just archived all over the place; Challonge, smash.gg, Braacket, Discord, the Hard Drop forums, Tonamel, etc. Heck, even the largest compilation of events is hosted on a Google Doc by Eddie, and archival there has slowed down in recent times. As the title suggests, I would like to know where I can get another Blossom hat from the last ultimate summit 6 that was once in the voting shop for ultimate summit 6 when it was available for purchase. Unfortunately, my package for the blossom hat got lost in transit and I was refunded but smash.gg can't produce these anymore because of how it's an embroidered product. And I REALLY REALLY wanted this hat :( Does... Source: almost 2 years ago
I've actually DM'd smash.gg (start.gg now) about this a bit ago and since most of their stuff is made-to-order after the shops close, they don't really have excess stock unfortunately. So most likely the only way to really get older merch would be if someone happens to sell it on eBay or something. Sorry! I would love to buy some of the merch from shops I missed the window on too. Would be cool to augment something like this with the char popularity stats (would love if something official was published from slippi, but maybe could infer from smash.gg?). Source: about 2 years ago
Nevermind, I don't think smash.gg is up to date, Taroco is still on Rogue. Source: about 2 years ago
There is! Start.gg (formerly smash.gg) is a spot with all sorts of video game tournament info! Source: over 2 years ago
I'm a student studying in Oxford this semester and I was surprised to not see a single event on smash.gg. I check often to make sure. Is there no scene around here at all? Source: over 2 years ago
I've been asked to help host an online tournament for Wild Rift -- I've only done smaller, more casual tournaments for Minecraft and Valorant before where I made the brackets manually and did entries through Discord (also manually lol). With this being a bigger event and open to the general public, it was suggested I look at smash.gg / start.gg instead. Source: over 2 years ago
Smash.gg seems to indicate that it will be. Is all of top 24 streamed? It usually is by this point in the bracket, right? Source: over 2 years ago
Pg stats only tracks smash.gg tournaments, so all tournaments using challonge or other sites wont be counted in pg stats. Source: over 2 years ago
Brackets are not done yet but smash.gg is already displaying stuff and I see that punk is registered too. Would be dope to get wrecked by "big name", really. Source: over 2 years ago
Start.gg has a feature where you can search for tournaments around you. Source: over 2 years ago

Imo, Small stage lists only really made sense for online-only tournaments that didn't take place through smash.gg. I participated in a smaller weekly online tournament over challonge when the pandemic just started, and since half the group were pretty new to tournaments in general, having a large stage list made the pick/ban process a messy process. Smash.gg has a decent search engine for nearby tournaments. Source: over 2 years ago
Don't forget that if you say smash.gg, you get dq'd. Source: almost 3 years ago
My system is to check recent smash.gg signups, along with checking recent vods. There is also a report function, which will notify TOs (currently only me LMAO) to check up the scenario. But realistically it's all in good fun, so there is pre-existing large skill gaps but we try our best! Source: almost 3 years ago
Did smash.gg change to start.gg because they didn't want it to get mixed up with Smash Bros or is it something woke? Source: almost 3 years ago
Love it, hope the link "smash.gg" obsolescence doesn't happen too fast. Source: almost 3 years ago
Anyway, it's a game, and if your experience is not fun, perhaps take a step back or try playing Arenas or smash.gg sets or something. Source: almost 3 years ago
