If one knows for certain what size skate they wear, and can be patient, no need to pay full retail for new skates. High end, like new skates can be purchased on sidelineswap.com, eBay or Play It Again Sports for sometimes half price. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Bird Cage Wanted.
That might be hard to get. That said, sidelineswap.com has a decent used goalie section and I saw a few there. We're talking old school Cooper, Koho and Jofa cage helmets. I hope it has what you are looking for. I think it's all private sellers so the selection always changes. Good luck! Source: about 1 year ago
  • What should I be prepared to spend on used gear?
In case you don't know about sidelineswap.com, just providing another shop for used gear. I tried Play-It-Again for used gear to play roller rather than using my ice gear and options were slim, but could be that hockey isn't as popular around me. You can also find used gear/skates on sideline that might have only been used a handful of times, but can't be returned. Source: over 1 year ago

And I know that you are looking to buy him new skates, but if he's still growing, sidelineswap.com is a great resource for used sports equipment. Everything is marked as to just how used the item is so you know if it's in pretty good condition or if they're really beat up, so you shouldn't get a surprise. And most sellers post several pictures so you can see exactly what you're getting. If there's a higher-end... Source: over 1 year ago

How I feel about SidelineSwap.com and it compares to other selling websites
SidelineSwap is going in the right direction, but hasn't hit its sweet spot just yet. The website has been successful up to this point because of it's lacrosse niche, but needs to expand to become relevant. I have had a good experience using the website to sell my old lacrosse gear and have gotten better prices on SidelineSwap than on eBay. And while there is much to improve upon, I can definitely say that if you...
