Where can I rent an RV? Cruise America is one the largest rental services. Outdoorsy and RVshare are options that allow you to rent directly from owners (think Airbnb for RVs). In addition, local RV dealerships will sometimes have rentals available. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Senior, first-time traveling across the US to finally see natural wonders. Need advice on destinations and life on the road.
My two sons and I did a RV trip over xmas break. Flew to Las Vegas, rented an RV and drove to Grand Canyon, South Rim. Stayed for 2 days. Drive to Zion, stayed for 2 days. Did lots of fun stuff on the way. Back to Vegas. 5 days, 4 nights sleeping in the RV. We had a great time. There's a massive market for RV rentals in Vegas. Go to rvshare.com. • I want to live life on the road, but I really have no knowledge or experience about it what so ever, advice?
I think you should start by going to https://rvshare.com or any similar place, and rent an RV for a week or a month to try this out, even if you just lock your house and camp in your driveway. That will give you a far better feel for the reality than anything we can do in here. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Looking for a NON standard rv to rent in Vegas
I would try https://rvshare.com. You can search by location. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Is VIP worth it? (& other newbie advice)
I just went Shiftpod this time (worth it to my ancient arse!), but if the packages w/RV don't look good, you might find a close-by rental via this: https://rvshare.com/. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Camper/ RV rental price
I rented from Cruise America. I had considered El Monte RV, outdoorsey.com or rvshare.com. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Advice for someone seriously considering this lifestyle
Rent an RV for a week or two, move into a park near home, and do your regular daily life to get some idea what full-timing is really like. You might think that's expensive, but it's not as expensive as buying one and deciding you hate it. There's also a need for 'office space' for that hoped for online job. There is https://rvshare.com and other places for rentals. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Rent? Buy? Something else? Tiny towable RV to use 3-4 times a year
Logic probably says rent, especially if you have to pay for storage. However there is some uncertainty in renting. You could look at https://rvshare.com to get an idea of what the rental options are. Source: about 3 years ago
  • After Roo22, were there any things you wished youโ€™d gone with or without?
If you ever want to rent, try rvshare.com or outdoorsy.com - it's rentals from private individuals. Never use Cruise America - there's been horror stories on this sub about them. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Best way to rent travel trailer at the RV/state/boondock park without towing yourself?
I know this website https://rvshare.com/ have some rentals that will deliver it to your destination, and I believe other sites will as well, I know when we were considering renting before buying we looked and saw some that required delivery, its out there, just need to look at the rental sites. • Motorhome/RV around the west coast of the US
You could look at a place like RV Share. Most National Parks will require reservations and that be a challenge depending on where you are going, luckily October is after the summer vacation period and less busy. Still busy, but not as bad as trying to get reservations for June - August. Source: over 3 years ago
  • RV rental

  • ELI5 How do RV dealerships really work? Every dealership, it seems like hundreds of RVs are always sitting on the lot not selling through year after year. Car dealerships need to move this yearโ€™s model to make room for the next. Why arenโ€™t dealerships loaded with 5 year old RVs that didnโ€™t sell?
Let him know that he can rent his RV out to other people and make money off of it. I know the people who started rvshare.com. Don't know a ton about it myself though. Source: over 3 years ago

  • I need advice about buying a Class C RV.
However, if I was buying in today's world, I would definitely look for a used coach - lower price, and all the little problems already sorted out. Classic advice is to try renting an RV for a weekend or a week to see if you and the rest of the fam really like it. This would be a place to look - https://rvshare.com/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Advice Needed: Irish couple on American road trip
Try https://rvshare.com/ it's people who are renting their rig so if you find the right person they will probably work with you on the one-way trip thing. If you start your trip in Wyoming (which is fairly economically depressed compared with Los Angeles) they might be okay with picking up the rig from a populous place and driving it back for an agreed upon fee. Summary of the public mentions of RVShare

RVShare is a prominent entity in the RV rental market, widely acknowledged as the largest peer-to-peer RV rental platform in the United States. Often likened to Airbnb for recreational vehicles, RVShare allows RV owners to rent out their motorhomes when they are not in use, effectively generating income and providing potential renters with a myriad of RV rental options. This model is mirrored by competitors such as Outdoorsy, indicating a strong market preference for flexible, peer-to-peer arrangements.

One of the significant appeals of RVShare lies in its extensive inventory and reach. It offers a comprehensive selection of RVs, including camper vans, travel trailers, tent campers, and motorhomes, which caters to a diverse range of customer needs, whether they seek standard models for family vacations or more unique options. In addition, RVShare not only supports peer-to-peer transactions but also collaborates with RV dealerships, offering customers the option to rent newer models directly from a commercial fleet. This dual approach enhances customer choice and flexibility.

However, despite its expansive market presence and extensive inventory, RVShare is not without criticism. While the platform garners thousands of five-star reviews and serves tens of thousands of customers annually, some users report issues such as unresponsive RV owners and occasional last-minute cancellations. Such incidents can be particularly inconvenient, undermining the reliability that customers expect when making travel arrangements. Competitors like Outdoorsy aim to alleviate such concerns by offering added services like DMV checks, 24-hour roadside assistance, and comprehensive insurance options.

In various discussions on public forums, RVShare is consistently grouped with Outdoorsy and Cruise America as a top choice for RV rentals. Users frequently recommend RVShare for those contemplating life on the road, whether for short-term vacations or as a precursor to purchasing an RV. The recommendation often emphasizes the advantage of exploring rental options through RVShare to gauge the lifestyle before committing financially to an RV purchase.

In summary, RVShare stands as a leader in the RV rental industry due to its vast network and inventory, offering both private owner rentals and dealership options. While it excels in providing variety and flexibility, potential renters should remain mindful of some challenges relating to owner responsiveness and reservation reliability. It remains a strong alternative for individuals seeking a broad array of RV rental options coupled with the convenience of a peer-to-peer platform.
